Report

Rangers struggled to find 7 fit players today, with 2 lads away on holiday and 2 more struck down with illness. The Lodge twins were also under the weather but played on bravely to ensure that Rangers had a fair crack of the whip.

The lack of options meant a change in formation and constant rotation of the single sub. The lads played well but were unable to show their usual dominance of the passing game whilst also working well in defence. They managed to limit Marshalls to very few chances as well successfully defending a string of corners before Marshalls took the lead just before half time. It was a well struck shot that Alex was unlucky not to keep hold of.

In the second half Rangers changed things rond again with Tom Lodge taking a turn between the sticks. He pulled off some inspired saves as the Rangers defence looked a little more uncomfortable. Sheldon Lincoln made some impressive runs down the wing and was ever so determined to win the ball. This paid off for Rangers when he netted two goals to give them a narrow lead.

Marshalls came back strongly but were being contained until Alex felt he couldnt play any longer, his illness getting the better of him. This change just took the momentum away from Rangers and Marshalls managed to squeeze the equaliser after the Rangers midfield advanced on the opposition goal. Rangers did really well but still just need to tighten up on teh defensive side of the game.

It ended 2-2 and all in all it was a fair result.
