Ordsall Terriers 1
V
Bessacarr 2
Referee Jodie Levicks penalty decision decided this tense and highly competitive fixture which had Bessacarr taking their first points of the season.
Opening the scoring with the first of his brace and against the run of play was James Garrett as his side counter attacked what was sustained Ordsall pressure keeping Tom Dangerfield busy between their posts with confident handling.
The lead was short lived through the Terriers right back ‘Mac’ Redfearne lobbing the equalizer.
Action at both ends for the second half saw the flag raised for offside as Terriers Curtis Taylors shot from a tight angle was picked from the net, while Bessacarr hit the crossbar from a dipping shot at the opposite end.
Another inspiring performance from Jake Moody in defence lead to a debatable penalty for his determination in winning the ball, Billy Garland sent the wrong way for its conversion and match winner for Bessacarr.
If created chances had been converted then the home side would have edged the points but as it was this was a dip in the Terriers rollercoaster season but a match to savour for all involved.
